Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Previous editions: Wilhelm 2000: 324-28.

According to G. Wilhelm (pers. comm.), the fragments belongs to a two-columned tablet. The preserved part should therefore pertain to col. ii. The fragment mentions various measures taken by the “father of His Majesty,” which makes it likely that the inventory dates back to Tudḫaliya IV. The mention of the Storm god of Ḫašpina in line ii 2′ suggests that the geographical setting of the inventory is in a region of the Upper Land (for Ḫašpina see Wilhelm 2000: 327-28, Corti 2017: 235).

ii 4′: Since the inventory likely dates back to Tudḫaliya IV, the Storm god of the “father of His Majesty” is perhaps the Storm god of Nerik as proposed by Wilhelm 2000: 328.

ii 6′-7′: Note that these spring festivals were celebrated “in the temple,” so apparently without the usual procession to the stela shrine.

Palaeography and orthography: note the spelling e-eš-ŠIR (ii 7′).
